For the expert, the pole is useful for practice and new routines. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, a few tips and tricks will help you have a more safe and enjoyable workout.

Tricks and Tips :)

*To minimize injury or strain ALWAYS remember to warm up and cool down before and after exercising. You will be doing exercises which use muscles which are rarely used so warm up is very important.

*Sexiness is optional, but baring your skin will allow you to get a much better grip on the pole with your arms and legs so that you can perform moves safely.

*Music is very important in how you feel. Choose something that gets you up and makes you move. Music that makes you feel sexy will inspire more confidence. Any type of music is acceptable… it’s all about you baby!!

*Practicing with a friend is very helpful for encouragement, inspiration and techniques.  Plus it’s just more fun to practice with a friend!

Warnings: :(

*Always be sure to check with a doctor before starting any new exercise routine to ensure that you are fit and healthy enough to start this physically demanding exercise.

*To prevent your experience from turning into a disaster, ensure your pole is fitted securely according to the manufacturer’s instructions.(remember the pole dance funnies video we sent? Always check your dance pole mounts!!)  Give yourself and others a lot of space and ensure that there is nothing to obstruct your movements.

*Some poles are just for posing. These are called ‘toy’ poles. Do not attempt pole dancing on these, they are not built to actually hold your weight and attempting to dance on them may result in a severe injury.

* Never wear oils or lotions when pole dancing. These will make the pole slippery and hazardous. Before you start, you may need to wipe down the pole to remove any grease or sweat. Try rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle then wipe with a clean rag.

*Only attempt tricks that are within your skill level. Check with a reputable instructor when you are ready for the more advanced stuff!
